Hi All,
I'm not sure if you know this, as it was not widely advertised, but there is a public hearing tonight (Wed. Oct 15) at 7pm at the Coldstream Municipal Hall regarding the future of the Kalavista Boat Launch area. Be sure to read the suggestions coming from Mary Malerby and and district engineer Mike Stamhuis that are attached to the following notice:
NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
The District of Coldstream Traffic Safety Committee has proposed a number of changes in the Kalavista Drive area in response to residents’ concerns over traffic and parking issues. The meeting is to obtain residents’ feedback and comments on the various proposals for Council review prior to consideration of implementation.
Date: Wednesday, October 15, 2008
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Council Chambers
District of Coldstream Municipal Hall
9901 Kalamalka Road, Coldstream
Please come to the meeting tonight to demonstrate your concern for the above listed proposals. Further, please encourage everyone you know - particularly anyone who drinks water from Kal Lake and cares about the ecology, the habitat and the inhabitants of the Kalavista area - to attend this meeting. If Council approves these proposals, no doubt there will be an increase in the number of motor boats on Kal Lake, causing greater turbidity and oil and gas pollution which will negatively affect the health of the lake and the quality of our drinking water.
Louise
