Readers write -- Some issues never change!

Coldstream Ratepayers Associations ( not the same one as today), have been around since 1907. This is stated in Margaret Ormsby's book "Coldstream Nulli Secundus".
At that time newcomers were pitted against "old timers", because they all wanted :
"A domestic water system of clean mountain water delivered by pipes . This pitted Coldstream Fruit-Rancher against Lavington Farmer. It seemed that the Coldstream Estate Company wasn't enthusiastic about incurring additional taxation." (Taken from Coldstream Nulli Secundus a history of the Corporation of the District of Coldstream, by Margaret Ormsby.)
We are still having the same problems today (water issues).
Whether the words are Coldstream Ratepayers Association or Coldstream Taxpayers Association the aim is the same.

Taxpayers/Ratepayers concerned about local issues.

About Me

My photo
I have been a resident of Coldstream since 1976. I have had 15 years of experience on Council, 3 years as Mayor. As a current Councillor I am working to achieve fair water and sewer rates and to ensure that taxpayers get fair treatment. The current direction regarding water supply is unsustainable and I am doing all I can to get the most cost effective water supply possible.
