Re: Ruth Moore Letter

I fail to see the parallel between the supportive Spicer Block petition accepted by Mary Malerby, and the petition against the pellet plant rezonation. Malerby made the wrong choice and lost politically as a result; petitions may or may not reflect majority positions. Perhaps the majority of the community wants the pellet plant (subject to meeting or exceeding emission standards) on its industrial land base in order to keep Tolko and the rail viable, and the residential tax base lower than it would otherwise be.

I fully support the pellet plant and will be upset if a relatively few people manage to block it going ahead.
Excellent letter in paper from Mrs Erickson. I remember beehive burners, sawmills, and heavy rail traffic between Lumby and Vernon. The pellet plant in no way compares. Also, the rail line was there longbefore those protesters so what did they think ran on it dinky toys?

About Me

My photo
I have been a resident of Coldstream since 1976. I have had 15 years of experience on Council, 3 years as Mayor. As a current Councillor I am working to achieve fair water and sewer rates and to ensure that taxpayers get fair treatment. The current direction regarding water supply is unsustainable and I am doing all I can to get the most cost effective water supply possible.
