Traffic and speeding violations are already a concern on Kal lk road, from Kal Lake Beach to Highway 6.

A great deal of thought needs to be considered before adding more traffic to a school-zone which is congested each morn and aft as students are picked up and dropped off.

It is hard to imagine that pedestrians, equestrians, runners, cyclists etc will not be in conflict with increased commercial traffic.

Vehicle traffic is already in conflict with recreational users:
the bike lane across from a popular Kal Lake commercial destination is blocked by customer's cars. There is no safe way to negotiate around them.

In many small American towns the speed limit is reduced to about the equivilant of 30km. That is the only way all users can go about their activities in safety.

Parking is another issue. Many accidents occur at intersections and while motorists are pulling into traffic.

We must keep in mind that children live in the moment, and are likely not anticipating the actions of vehicles. Their safety in the school zone and vicinity has got to be a top priority.

The Kal Lake Coldstream Creek Rd corridor functions as a linear park enjoyed by all ages and all-comers. It must be protected.
