An old story retold.

This letter to the Editor was written in 2005. With the pending demise of Greater Vernon Water I felt nostalgic and thought it would be worth of reading it again (for those who read it the first time) or read it for the first time for those who did not read it before. The advice to Council to "...stop the backroom politics and be up front with the electorate" is as valid as it was then.

As for Greater Vernon Water: may it rest in peace! It did not do any good for most of Coldstream taxpayers anyway.

I have been a resident of Coldstream since 1976. I have had 15 years of experience on Council, 3 years as Mayor. As a current Councillor I am working to achieve fair water and sewer rates and to ensure that taxpayers get fair treatment. The current direction regarding water supply is unsustainable and I am doing all I can to get the most cost effective water supply possible.
