Casino Cleared For Bomb Threat

Customers and staff wait across the street as RCMP and Fire Rescue investigate a bomb threat at Lake City Casino (Jason Armstrong photo)A security incident at Vernon's Lake City Casino has ended.
Staff and customers of the gaming outlet on Anderson Way were evacuated around 11:20 this morning due to a bomb threat.
They were allowed back in about 90 minutes later after police, Fire Rescue and a bomb-sniffing dog checked out the building.

The casino reopened at 12:51pm.

Nearby businesses like Eastside Mario's and the TD Bank were also cleared.
This man was in the casino at the time.
He says, "(Staff) told us, 'Everyone evacuate the casino, and go as far away as possible.'"
The patrons were not told why they were being removed.
Part of Anderson Way was closed to traffic during the incident.
Staff and customers at the nearby stores were allowed back in at 12:10.
Police have not said if they have a suspect, or given any more details about the incident.
