RCMP have released the name of the young man who died after jumping off a cliff in the North Okanagan.

Devin Quinn, a resident of Salmon Arm, died Saturday afternoon after cliff diving off a cliff at Kal Lake Provincial Park near Rattlesnake Point.

RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says reports indicate the 21-year-old man hit the water wrong and never resurfaced.

“His body was recovered by the Vernon Search and Rescue Unit several hours later,” says Molendyk.

He says alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the incident.

I have been a resident of Coldstream since 1976. I have had 15 years of experience on Council, 3 years as Mayor. As a current Councillor I am working to achieve fair water and sewer rates and to ensure that taxpayers get fair treatment. The current direction regarding water supply is unsustainable and I am doing all I can to get the most cost effective water supply possible.
