File this under "predictable":
I see another blogger has an opinion about the purchase price of the hall based on info from an unnamed realtor.
Also, re their Monday-morning quarter-backing about the timing of the purchase after rezoning the hall to commercial: the rezoning was done to accommodate the farmer's market--the blogger must realize that there was no way council could have predicted the Women's Institute members would want to unburden themselves from the responsibilities of managing the hall.
I was expecting the hall to be in the 400k+ range given its proximity to a both a park with a stream running through it and an attractive elementary school.
As realtors say: location, location, location. I would add: potential, potential, potential.
In any case, I have no doubt the women of the Women's Institute will use the funds from the sale of the hall to benefit our community. It's a win-win.
What can you expect from a blogger whose chief adviser is her dog, Kia?
Just want to say well done for stepping up to purchase the very valuable CWI property/hall.
Hope it gets preserved and not torn down. Too bad the old jail couldn't have been preserved better for the community as a whole. Such a pity the CWI had to experience so much acrimony by a few.
