Toronto Mayor Rob Ford removed from office - Toronto Sun

TORONTO - Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has been punted from office, just days short of celebrating his second anniversary of being sworn in.

Justice Charles Hackland's eagerly awaited decision in a conflict-of-interest case was handed down Monday morning at a downtown courthouse.

"His actions were not done by reason of inadvertence or a good faith error of judgement," Justice Charles Hackland said.

He suspended the decision though for 14 days to allow for "administrative changes" and didn't bar Ford from running again, as he could have for up to seven years.

Ford had been accused of violating council's conflict guidelines after he spoke to and voted on whether to accept an Integrity Commissioner's report critical of how he raised funds for his football charity last February.

Integrity Commissioner Janet Leiper had ordered Ford to repay $3,000 more

About Me

My photo
I have been a resident of Coldstream since 1976. I have had 15 years of experience on Council, 3 years as Mayor. As a current Councillor I am working to achieve fair water and sewer rates and to ensure that taxpayers get fair treatment. The current direction regarding water supply is unsustainable and I am doing all I can to get the most cost effective water supply possible.
