The suggestion that "No Swimming" signs be posted at the boat- launch infuriates me. No one I know goes there for a peaceful swim, rather one goes there to get a heat-stressed dog in and out all the while keeping an eagle eye on the speed boats.
Dog-walkers are on the look-out for easy ways to cool down their dogs and perhaps join them for a refreshing dip. Who wants to get in the car and drive a kilometer or more for a 5 minute dip?
Please don't make it hard for local dog-owning tax-payers or anyone who is close to the pocket beach next to the boat launch to find a place to cool off.
If someone has gone to the trouble to outfit themselves with a mega-truck, mega-water craft and all the toys surely they can afford to make their way to a less intrusive boat-launch.
To post a no-swimming sign is an insult to anyone trying to eat locally, recreate locally and leave the smallest foot-print possible on this planet.
At the very least, please post "SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK".

About Me

My photo
I have been a resident of Coldstream since 1976. I have had 15 years of experience on Council, 3 years as Mayor. As a current Councillor I am working to achieve fair water and sewer rates and to ensure that taxpayers get fair treatment. The current direction regarding water supply is unsustainable and I am doing all I can to get the most cost effective water supply possible.
