I am very, very disappointed in the City of Vernon's attitude towards the Museum as well as giving preferential treatment to the Art Gallery. Doubt if any of the "Staff" who made the recommendations had even been inside the Museum. At one open house they gave {think it may've been for the clock} not one person from Vernon Council nor Admin. could be bothered to attend.
It seems so wasteful not to construct on one site. I shall certainly now vote No for the art gallery.

The handling of the whole issue of Gallery /Museum/ Sports Field wish list has been incredibly clumsy and confusing. It seems to be driven by private lobby and closed door discussions rather than an open public discussion of longer term vision for this community. I see no political leadership at all.Projected costs are wildly inappropriate given the economic state of the various levels of government involved and some of the soon to be pressing needs on local taxpayers (like water line twinning, health care issues etc.) Regardless of the pot from which you take the money, there is only one taxpayer! I will be voting no.

About Me

My photo
I have been a resident of Coldstream since 1976. I have had 15 years of experience on Council, 3 years as Mayor. As a current Councillor I am working to achieve fair water and sewer rates and to ensure that taxpayers get fair treatment. The current direction regarding water supply is unsustainable and I am doing all I can to get the most cost effective water supply possible.
