Selected News Clips - Morning Star - in case you missed them.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

World Triathlon Corporation has pulled a fast one on a number of local governments. Their  ingenious plan would have been applauded by Tom Sawyer. He cooked up an ingenious scheme to have his friends do his chores and give him all their worldly possessions for the privilege.

Instead of searching for acceptable locations and routes for the next host of their Ironman Canada site, presenting their plans to Councils for approval instead they made a number of Councils to trip over each other to submit proposals for their gracious acceptance. Unknown sums of taxpayers’ dollars were spent on searching out acceptable routes, cost estimates for policing, medical expenses etc., which WTC did not have to do. If the estimates were to prove wrong no one could blame WTC for miscalculating expenses and benefits. All in all the main losers were the communities which did all the work and got nothing out of their money and hard work. My hat’s off, WTC, you are geniuses (or readers of Mark Twain)!

About Me

My photo
I have been a resident of Coldstream since 1976. I have had 15 years of experience on Council, 3 years as Mayor. As a current Councillor I am working to achieve fair water and sewer rates and to ensure that taxpayers get fair treatment. The current direction regarding water supply is unsustainable and I am doing all I can to get the most cost effective water supply possible.
