-------------------------------------------------------

Clarification is needed here. My comments "...The solution, according to Coun. Gyula Kiss, is to use Okanagan Lake, “which is significantly bigger.” is somewhat out of context. What I was referring to was the study which indicated that significantly more boats were launched on Kalamalka Lake than on Okanagan Lake although Okanagan Lake is significantly bigger. For reference check out the attached document.

This study counted the number of boat trailers at paddlewheel park to determine these numbers. It also counted the number of trailers at both Kekuli and Kalavista launch. It did not account for the marina, yacht club, canadian lakeview launch or the newport launch on Okanagan Lake. The greater lakes study done in 2008 showed approximately 10 times the boats launched on to Okanagan lake. Okanagan Lake is much bigger but it is just as busy as Kalamalka lake.

My comments were directed to the handout. I am sure with all the other communities around Okanagan Lake there are a lot more boats on OK Lake.

About Me

My photo
I have been a resident of Coldstream since 1976. I have had 15 years of experience on Council, 3 years as Mayor. As a current Councillor I am working to achieve fair water and sewer rates and to ensure that taxpayers get fair treatment. The current direction regarding water supply is unsustainable and I am doing all I can to get the most cost effective water supply possible.
