Councillor Spiers is petitioning the Government of Canada to eliminate the GST on the Carbon Tax charged by the Province of BC (and presumably by other provinces in the future). This GST defeats the claim that the carbon tax would be revenue neutral as this money leaves the province and becomes part of the Federal tax revenue.
