About 150 people took in the event at the Schubert Centre, put on by the group SENS, Sustainable Environment Network Society.
The 70 million dollar water referendum was one of the questions, and
not one of the 18 candidates on hand said they would be voting for it,
with concerns around the cost and the need for the projects.
Other topics included allowing new housing types like Earthships,
geo-thermal heating in public buildings, ways to reduce traffic, and
what to do with the vacant, former Bank of Montreal building downtown.
All five mayoralty candidates were present, and 13 of the 14 for
councillor, with Colt Wilson out of town, and not able to make it.
