It is regrettable that the Provincial Government decided to eliminate a number of social grants, such as the above two worthwhile organizations' grants. However, it appears that the host communities still receive a hefty chunk of the gamblers' money. Would it not be reasonable then to expect these recipients of those windfall funds to share some of it with the unfortunate organizations within their jurisdictions?

Gee, I wonder why that casino windfall to Vernon (over $1.5 million/year) doesn't get apportioned to the Greater Vernon members based on a population formula. Just as we all use the Rec Center and the Preforming Arts Center, so do we all attend the casino and spend our dollars. This money should not simply go into Vernon's pocket!
