Coldstream, Lavington, Lumby and BX-Swan Lake firefighters joined forces to battle a stubborn blaze at Coldstream Lumber Tuesday.

"It will be hours before it’s fully out, it’s going to smoke and smoulder all day and night too," said Shane Code, Coldstream Fire Chief.

The fire broke out in a building which houses two kilns, just before 9 a.m.

One employee, who was fighting the fire, was taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital by B.C. Ambulance for treatment of smoke inhalation.

No cause of the fire has been determined as it remains under investigation.

Check back for a video of the blaze and read Wednesday's issue of The Morning Star for a full account of the fire.
