  1. As both a patient who passed the time watching traffic pass from my room on the third floor and as a visitor to the hospital I have been continuously astonished at the speed at which transport trucks hurtle down the hill past the hospital.

I remember driving in the States in some jurisdiction in which large trucks were required to go ten miles slower than other traffic. This makes good sense given the momentum that a large vehicle is capable of.

I fear that a pedestrian overpass will lead to all types of mischief. Having watched unsavoury characters transversing the hospital parking lot to Polson Park or the vicinity of the Army Camp I would not want to walk over an overpass in the dark. Neither would I care to drive underneath an overpass unless it is covered.

Traffic needs to be slowed down for the safe passage of both vehicles and pedestrians.
