As both a patient who passed the time watching traffic pass from my room on the third floor and as a visitor to the hospital I have been continuously astonished at the speed at which transport trucks hurtle down the hill past the hospital.
ReplyDeleteI remember driving in the States in some jurisdiction in which large trucks were required to go ten miles slower than other traffic. This makes good sense given the momentum that a large vehicle is capable of.
I fear that a pedestrian overpass will lead to all types of mischief. Having watched unsavoury characters transversing the hospital parking lot to Polson Park or the vicinity of the Army Camp I would not want to walk over an overpass in the dark. Neither would I care to drive underneath an overpass unless it is covered.
Traffic needs to be slowed down for the safe passage of both vehicles and pedestrians.
