Okanagan sunshine? - Kalamalka Lake in the blazing sun!

Smoke from hundreds of forest fires obscure the sun in the generally sunny Okanagan. First the floods put a damper on outdoor activities now the fires do the same. Up to 14,000 residents have been evacuated in various parts of the Central Interior. An entire trailer park burned down is Cache Creek. The map below depicts the current fire situation in British Columbia.

'The city of Kamloops is closing several parks due to hazardous conditions.

For public safety and due to the extremely dry conditions, the following parks are now closed until further notice:

    Sahali Terrace
    Batchelor Nature Park
    Skyline Park
    Sifton Loop
    Gleneagles Park
    Campbell Creek Nature Park
    Kamloops Bike Ranch
    Pineview Trail Network
The closures are in addition to previously announced closures.

The parks are closed to all bike, pedestrian, and vehicular traffic.'
