  1. Jim Cookson's astute comment on the Cosens Bay petition comments section captures the essence of what will be lost if the Colonists are indulged:

"This absolutely must not happen. And to be clear any politician that supports this will suffer the consequences at the ballot box.

Kalamalka lake and in particular the shore line of it needs to be protected. Cosens Bay is a special place and the people who purchased homes there knew that it was intended as a low key cottage style area. If this road goes through the consequences to the nature and the area are clear. Empty Monster homes, monster boats and complete destruction of the natural soul of the lake. The lake and the community does not need more monster homes that sit absolutely empty 11 months of the year. It creates a ghost town community with no soul. An excellent example of this is the recent developments further up on Kalamalka Lake. If this road goes through the long term future of Cosens Bay will be the same as Kalavista Drive. It makes me want to vomit.

So dear Political Leader, vote for this and be prepared to be unemployed. That's the consequence."

  2. Re empty "monster" houses mentioned by Jim Cookson, if they can't be prevented at the north end of Kal Lake, I would like them rezoned as small European style hotels.

The increased tax dollars could go toward purchasing modest water front homes as they become available, to enhance public access and viewscapes.

In addition, the property for sale across from the small "water intake" beach on Westkal, should also be rezoned for a small hotel, again with homes nearby bought to add to public waterfront.
