That will make a great piece of parkland! The price seems a little high though considering it sold for the same price ($875,000) in 2007 when prices were much higher. I was told by someone that the actual tax appraisal for that property is $586,000. I am not sure if that is correct but perhaps you can enlighten us on how the current price was negotiated or not negotiated by GVRD.
I agree, nice piece of park if set up for residents to use for picnics, wildlife viewing, etc but NOT boats, canoes or kayaks. Also accessible to handicapped/seniors with at least some nearby parking stalls. Having said this I feel the price paid was way out of line and the owners are no doubt laughing all the way to the bank. No basements, rising damp, aging logs, traffic, etc. I may be wrong but do not believe it was a full time residence anyway. Hope we do not end up paying for anymore Kalvista owners' retirement.

ReplyDeleteI was told by SOMEONE that the property could have fetched a million. LOL
ReplyDeleteThen why was Coldstream only collecting taxes based on a $586 appraisal lol
