  1. Re annexation:
A 2008 survey of NORD's electoral area residents already showed that 75% were not in favour of changing how they are governed.

Former Electoral Area A (Okanagan Landing) residents know what they received under amalgamation: higher taxes, more traffic, more development, and no commensurate increase in services or amenities.

More houses go in, but no extra parks or boat launches are built, and roads are not expanded.

$15K for sewer would be cheap, Alan Hill spent at least $20K to install the "free" sewer on his property. I would urge anyone interested in this subject to contact Mr. Hill, because he has some amazing letters in his possession that document the City's "empty promises" to Electoral A residents prior to amalgamation.

Fast forward to 2010, and the City-sponsored Okanagan Lake pollution program continues, with vast amounts of spray irrigation directly above properties serviced by septic systems, located above Okanagan Lake.

If only the area had been sewered as promised, 17 years ago - it is time for the City to take responsibility for the environmental stewardship of the lands it takes over.
